The Kaduna State government has announced a relaxation of the restriction of movement in the state.

Deputy Governor, Hadiza Sebuwa Balarabe, said on Wednesday that the decision is to enable residents to stock up on food and other essentials.

The State Government had on March 26 imposed a curfew in an attempt to curb the spread of coronavirus.

“We are not oblivious that this decision has created some inconvenience for people, and we apologise for that.

“To mitigate this, the Kaduna State Government has decided to temporarily relax the restriction of movement. From 3 pm today to 12 midnight tomorrow, Thursday, 2nd April 2020”, Mrs. Balarabe said in her statement.

She noted that subsequently, the restriction of movement would be lifted every Tuesday and Wednesday to enable traders in food and other essentials to open their shops.

“I appeal to all of us to observe social distancing, avoid crowded places, and to wash our hands regularly.”
